A true 'alien" will differ from us in the most important and unifying characteristics of earth life: whether it has and uses DNA like ours, and even if it has DNA, whether it uses the same genetic code as we do and makes proteins with the same amino acid, among many, many other possible differences that are potentially possible.
S0-called STAR WARS alien may be alien in terms of morphology only, not the real stuff that makes one alien. DNA might be one way to make life-or the only way.
There may be lots of "aliens" lurking here on earth. How would we know if we ran into such life?
