Thomas Alva Edison to Google.
Electricity to Information Evolution.
This is scary, really scary. We rely on Orkut, Myspace or Facebooks to connect with our friends. We manage our photos at sites like Flickr or Photobucket. We watch videos in youtube or Joost. We are reading our newspapers online. For very tiny little things we search in google. And so on. Now the question is where are we heading? Mumford accused that we are unconditionally surrendering to these novelties unconditionally just because they are offered without paying human consequences. But really is it inevitable? Technology shapes economics and economics shapes society. In a society governed by economic trade-offs, the technological imperative is precisely that: an imperative.
Personal choice has little to do with it.
